Spirit dispensers

Sir,—With the never-ending increase in liquor prices, the hotel industry should be able to afford more hygienic ways of dispensing spirits. The obnoxious gadget which has two areas on to which the bartender simply pushes the rim of the glass should be banned. To many different drinkers who like one particular kind of spirit, their drinks are made to seem more like a community cup. Medical science cannot definitely state that A.I.D.S. is not caused by droplet or saliva infection. Therefore an apparatus for dispensing spirits should enable each customer to have a drink that is not contaminated by previous use. — Yours, etc., E. L. ROSS. January 7, 1986.
