Mission’s thanks

Sir,—On behalf of the whole Christchurch City Mission, I offer our sincere thanks to the people of Christchurch for the enormous amount of help received by the mission over the Christmas period. A great number of people offered their own time and skills, gifts for children and adults, food and money. The extent of the support we received was an inspiration to staff and a real indication of the extent to which the people of the city had us in their thoughts and prayers at this time. Were it not for this support, Christmas would have been the poorer for many people who seek the help of the mission. The Christmas dinner was among the best we have had, with about 300 to 350 meals served. The support given to us has also been essential in keeping all our other services in operation through this period. On behalf of the City Mission, I simply say: “Thank you Christchurch.” - Yours, etc., DAVID MORRELL, City Missioner. January 7, 1986.
