Thieves with a shopping list?
PA Whangarei Thieves at Kerikeri who have stolen thousands -i of dollars worth of orchard equipment appear to have had a Christmas shopping list, said one of the victims. A senior ranger for the Bay of Islands Maritime and Historic Park Board, Mr Bill Wright, said items taken from the board’s workshops at the Stone Store basin had been systematically selected.
The Kerikeri policeman,: Constable Alick Mackay, said the orchard equipment ! might have been stolen “to- 5 order” for horticultural areas such as Bay of Plenty. The thefts have included: shade cloth, polythene pip-7 ing, sprayers and chemicals. One orchardist who laid out more than $lOOO worth of wire for new kiwifruit frames returned the next, day to find it had all gone.
