FUTURES Hedges rolled
The futures market was quiet on Tuesday, with low volumes of trading. United States dollar contracts finished about 200 points ($1000) down on the Monday close, said Dr Layton, of Marshall Futures. Much of the trading was end-of-year book clearing,. he said, though a significant number of traders were hedges being rolled over from December into January. Only 36 PCP contracts were traded, with virtually no change in the indices for the various months. In wool, there was some end-of-year movement, and prices were a little easier. The futures market will trade again tomorrow. The exchange will be closed only on statutory holidays. Details of Tuesday’s trading:
