Governor marries again

Fiji’s Governor-General, Ratu Sir Penaia Ganilau, has been married in Suva for the third time. The wedding ' was a simple ceremony at Government House. His wife was the widow of a former Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism, Jonati Mavoa. Mr Mavoa died in June in New Zealand from head injuries suffered when he fell off the steps of his home in Suva. He was rushed to New Zealand. Ratu Sir Penaia’s first wife, Adi Laisa, died in 1971. His second wife, Adi Davila, died last year. Congratulations received included one from the Queen.
