Froggett’s Revenge, by KM Peyton,; Oxford Uni- - versity Press.lf Wayne walked past without seeing him, Denny Froggett knew that he would almost die of relief. It would be as gorge- ’ ous as Christmas stockings * and ginger fudge cake and looking at Mr Parker’s traction engine collection all rolled into one. Wayne MacFarlane was a black cloud on Denny’s horizon. He bullied him, called him Frogslegs and made his life -a misery. Timbuktu : would not be far enough away for Wayne to go. ‘ Then Denny met Harry. Harry was enormous. Harry was the biggest dog Denny had ever seen and he was Denny’s friend. Harry was later to be renamed Frogget’s Revenge — Danny’s protector. He was, though, too big to stay, so Denny and his Dad found Willie Little, a giant of a man who used to be at school with Denny’s dad. Big Willie and big dog belong together like ngsaw pieces and the problem of a home for Frogget’s Revenge was solved. A nor-mal-size puppy later, Denny had a new dog and a new protector. What happened to Wayne? That is a good question . . . read the book. He did not bother Denny •any more though. An amusing tale. — Rosemary Brader.
