It is Christmas week and although the school holidays are only just beginning, soon ‘ the novelty of Christmas . and all it brings will wear * off. That is when youngsters — and their parents — will ■ be looking’for things to do. There is always lots to do at Queen Elisabeth II Park in Christchurch, this summer and, as well, there are a lot of fun things in the “Summer Times” programme. The Junior Press will run details of these ' activities soon — most of them are in January. At Q.E.H Park this summer special courses are running for primary, intermediate, and secondary school pupils: You can enrol for fun classes such as pottery, where you can make models, bowls and pots, then paint them and have them

For those who can swim there are classes in spring--board ‘ . giving, beginners’ canoeing lessons, and synchronised swimming. Other activities include pavement drawing, mobilemaking, and tube water polo. J You can enrol for these classes by telephoning Q.E.H Park. .The cost for the classes is small, but it is essential that you enrol. There will be special concession day? for the summer activities. For more details collect your brochure from the Christchurch City Council, Q.E.H Park, Pioneer Stadium, /or phone the Park’s recreation officer.
