General security review
PA Wellington A general review of security in New Zealand is under way. But it does not include a specific review of the Security Intelligence Service Act, said a spokesman in the Prime Minister’s office.
In response to a question about whether there are any proposals to further amend the S.I.S. Act, Mr Lange replied in a note: “Review to be considered during first term.”
The spokesman said yesterday that this meant a review of security matters generally, not the S.I.S.
