Tradition revived

A circus street parade is coming to Christchurch for the first time in 25 years. The- caged wild cats, performers and a band of the visiting Royale American Three Rings Circus will wend their way through the centre of the city on Thurs-

day from 10 a.m. The route has not yet been finalised. Circus parades were commonplace last century, but the tradition has fallen from favour.

The circus will give its first public performance at 2 p.m. after the parade.
