Just a Lord’s run queried

PA Invercargill The ninth-placed performance of the favourite, Just a Lord, in the Glengarry Mobile at Ascot Park on Tuesday was investigted by stipendiary stewards. His driver, Henry Skinner, confirmed that in the early stages he had been two out and two back. When several horses improved round him in the course of the running, he ended up five and six back.

Rather than attempt to move from the back with 600 m to run, when he could

have been forced wider, he elected to wait until the final turn.

In spite of being urged with the whip, Just a Lord did not respond as Skinner had anticipated. The connections of Dalrae Adios and Belanna were warned to improve the racing manners of their horses. Belanna broke in the run up in the Glengarry Mobile and took no serious part. Dalrae Adios swung around at the start of the Robin Dundee Mobile Pace and lost about 50m.
