Alternative play
Bowlers who are eliminated early from the singles and pairs will not have to look far to find alternative play. A number of clubs have arranged fours tournaments in the period from January 1 to January 4 and nearly all of them are sponsored, which means that the prizes will be worth while.
The clubs holding these tournaments are:— Canterbury, January 1 and 2 (two-day event), Riccarton W.M.C., January 1; Fendalton, January 2; Kaiapoi, January 2 and 3; Papanui, January 2 and 3; Beckenham, January 4; Bumside, January 4; ChristchurchRichmond M.S.A., January 4; and Spreydon, January 4.
