Glue-sniffing

Sir,—With reference to your front page article on glue-sniffing (December 13), yes, we do have a problem, but I totally disagree with Ms Sandra Meredith, the Social Welfare Department’s coordinator on solvent abuse. Evidence does not show solvent abuse to be on the increase. Ms Meredith is quite wrong to say that, for I see the glue-sniffers every day. She should get out in the streets and see these children. Her approach to solvent abuse is negative.—Yours, etc.,

HOHEPA HONA, Parent Support Group. December 13, 1985.
