Farmer kills
A farmer apparently distraught over his finances shot and killed the president of his bank, a neighbour, and his own wife, before committing suicide. Dale Burr, aged 63, walked into the Hills Bank and Trust Company with a 12-guage shotgun and shot and killed its president. State and Johnson County authorities believe Burr also killed a neighbour, Richard Goody, and his own wife. She was found dead at their home and Mr Goody was found dead at his home. Burr was stopped by a sheriff’s deputy along a rural road near his home and committed suicide in his truck while the deputy was waiting for back-up.—Hills, lowa.
