Third division title
PA Wellington The national third division rugby championship will be played in one section next year if sufficient funding can be found. The council approved a proposal for a united third division, but heard that substantial funding would be necessary to make the
change. The third division, instituted last year for the first time, was played in northern and southern sections. Funding for a merged third division is unlikely to be a problem as the union is likely to announce substantial sponsorship for the national championship in the near future.
