Situations Vacant Situations Vacant I DEPARTMENT OF SCIENTIFIC AND INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH MARINE GEOPHYSICIST WELLINGTON GEOPHYSICS DIVISION seeks a scientist to participate in the acquisition, processing and interpretation of marine geophysical data relating to the New Zealand continental shelf and margins. The successful candidate will plan dedicated or joint surveys on DSIR or other survey vessels involving 4 to 8 weeks per year at sea. Geophysics Division currently operates single channel seismic reflection, seismic refraction, gravity, and magnetic surveying equipment. Upgrading and expansion of this range of equipment is envisaged. Candlates should have a postgraduate degree in geophysics (PhD preferred), with marine geophysical experience in instrumentation, data acquisition, data processing or interpretation advantageous. Salary will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
