Mr Justice Vautier retires
PA Auckland Mr Justice Vautier has been bidden farewell by members of the legal profession on his retirement from the High Court Bench. Tributes to him were paid by the Solicitor-General, Mr Paul Neazor, Q.C., on behalf of the Attorney-General and the Government; by Mr Peter Clapshaw on behalf of the New Zealand Law Society, and by Mr Colin Pidgeon, Q.C., on behalf of the Auckland District Law Society. Mr Neazor said that Mr Justice Vautier had lived up to expectations on his appointment as a High Court judge and had displayed a meticulous attention to detail, tenacity of purpose, and an even temperament, everyone had a fair hearing.”
