Noble Princess to improve record

Special correspondent Dunedin Noble Princess will be attempting to improve a splendid record fresh-up at Beaumont tomorrow, when her assignment is the second leg of the Beaumont Racing Club’s T.A.B. double and the TAB trifecta race. Noble Princess has won fresh up over 1200 m the last three seasons. She won at Wyndham in October last year as a five-year-old. Twelve months earlier she was successful at Gore, and she won her first start as a three-year-old at Wyndham. She has won nine races. Last season the daughter of Noble Bijou and Clarendon Priness was also successful over 1400 m at Riverton and 1600 m at Wingatui from the Gore stable of Stephen Allen.

King Kaka conceded Noble Princess a kilogram at Omakau in January and beat her by a long neck over 1400 m. He meets her on the same terms tomorrow. He won at the Wingatui trials last Satur-

day, beating Our Bismark, which is also in the line-up tomorrow. ,/. Our Bismark was a six length winner over 1225 m at Beaumont 12 months ago and she had further wins over 1200 at Washdyke and Gore. She beat the speedy Jonny Alone at Gore. Our Bismark has been in work for some time with Arthur and Leslie Didham, awaiting a suitable race to make a fresh start Her rider Jenny McQueen can claim 4.5 kg. Kerry Siobhan showed up as a capable sprinter last season.

She won fresh-up at Ascot Park, then finished second to Our Bismark at Beaumont, won at Tapanui and Cromwell. She showed she was forward to resume when she won at the Winton trials last Sunday. Russell McAra, who rode her on that occasion, has the mount Allez Bijou and Noble River, winners at the New Zealand Cup meeting, and Kade, which won the race

last year, make most appeal in the first leg of the T.A.B. double. Allez Bijou was successful at Beaumont in March. Noble River’s easy all-the-way win in a highweight at Riccarton was a response to being tried in blinkers.
