Search for boy ends
PA New Plymouth The search for a boy scout missing on Mount Ruapehu since Sunday morning was called off last evening. : — Senior-Sergeant Barry McAvoy, of the Wanganui police, said that between 60 and 70 people had been searching yesterday. “All avenues possible have been searched,” he said.
The boy is John William Brough, aged 11, of Raetihi, who became separated from his scout group between Mangaturuturu Hut and Lake Surprise about 11 a.m. on Sunday.
