Max the donkey has been given permission to take children for rides in Corsair Bay. Last month’s meeting of the Lyttelton Borough Council’s finance committee approved the donkey rides, on the condition that Max’s owners, Mr E< E. and Mrs P. M. Owen, take responsibility for his behaviour.
The committee report says that Max has a nice nature, enjoys children, and is patient Rides on Max will cost between 30c and 40c. He will be led round a flat grassed area above the Corsair Bay playground. “Droppings will be picked up and disposed of,” the report said.
