The Geneva talks
Sir,—l wish to congratulate the writer of “The Geneva talks” editorial (November 28) for a wellbalanced summary of the Geneva talks situation. I am in particular agreement with the last paragraph, viz. — “Some of the Reagan Administration do not want to have an arms accord.” What a pity your pronuclear, correspondents cannot see the reality wood for their emotive trees. That the Pentagon and vested interests in nuclear weapon research and production should American
policy against the wishes ,Vf the majority of Americans is an outrageous, but unarguable, fact, Therefore, why should New' Zealanders support what amounts to a nuclear proliferation dictatorship? Fifty, per cent off from the Russians found no takers in the U.S. hierarchy.—Yours, etc. ARTHUR MAY. ' November 28, 1985. k
