Air routes added
PA Auckland New air routes in and out of Auckland Airport should materially assist aircraft movements, says the Civil Aviation Division of the Ministry of Transport.
Additional routes are expected to be in use from today.
The assistant director of air traffic services for the division, Mr Laurie Coker, said yesterday that he did not believe the decision by Auckland Airport controllers to handle fewer aircraft movements would lead to the delays that some feared The additional routes would materially assist to keep aircraft moving and would reduce the need for direct radar navigation.
