Girls beaten, robbed
Two girls, aged about 15, will appear in the Children and Young Persons Court today after an incident on Monday, in which two other girls were beaten up, threatened with a knife, and robbed. The two who were arrested had absconded from Kingslea Girls’ Home. They will be charged with robbery.
A police spokesman said that at 9.15 p.m. on Monday two girls were assaulted outside a dairy in Stanmore Road. One suffered two broken ribs, and small amounts of money were taken from each girl. One of the victims called the police after allegedly seeing her attacker again in Stanmore Road yesterday.
