Dedicated service by designers
Few spectators and not many competitors realise that the F£J. showjumping courses at the Canterbury show are the work of a team of course designers. This team has for many years been headed by Mr C. A. S. Meares, of St Andrews, South Canterbury, one of the most thoughtful, knowledgable and skilful course designers in New Zealand.
Although! still available as a adviser, Mr Meares is
likely to be seen in another guise, competing in the dressage arena this year.
The rest of his team of Mr Andrew McCully, of Seafield, and Mrs Mary Snoep, of Christchurch (who has been building courses at the Canterbury show for 20 years) will be joined by Mr David Graham, of Tauranga, who is one of New Zealand's two international course designers and long recognised as the country’s top designer.
