Basil Dean at work-outs

Basil Dean made a longawaited appearance at the Ashburton trotting work-outs yesterday after an injuryenforced spell. He trotted evenly throughout the 2400 m for Kerry O’Reilly and finished on just enough to head Our Tammy short of the line. The time of 3min 15s was nothing outstanding, but it was probably a much-needed workout.
Conditions were ideal and there were good fields in most events, in spite of three nights trotting involving Ashburton horses this week. Results, all 2400 m:
