Island’s ex-P.M. jailed
NZPA-Reuter Roseau, Dominica The former Prime Minister of Dominica, Patrick John, was sentenced to 12 years in jail yesterday for conspiring to overthrow the Government in 1981. His lawyer said that he was considering an appeal. The Caribbean island’s High Court also convicted the former deputy commander of the now disbanded Dominica Defence Force, Malcolm Reid, and a salesman Julian David. Reid was also sentenced to 12 years and David received a five year term.
