Design awards
PA Auckland Three Christchurch companies are among the six finalists for the Prince Philip Award, the Industrial Design Council’s highest award. They are PDL Industries, Ltd, Tait Electronics, Ltd, and G. W. Streat, Ltd. The other finalists are Woolrest Corporation, Ltd,' Austral Standard Cables, Ltd, and Technident Products, Ltd. Seventeen manufacturing and investment firms have been presented with membership plaques after Pledging the Industrial Design Council $3OOO each a year for the next three years. The money will be used to bring the council’s pro-
duct evaluation service for design awards within the financial reach of smaller manufacturers and exporters. Designmark award winners: New Line Bathroom Accessories, rollaway shower screen; Permanent Plant Design, Ltd, permanent polyester trees; Trish Gregory Fashions, NZ, Ltd, designer fashion kit system; Repco Engineering (NZ), Ltd, quickfox signpost base; perfield Products 1980, Bentley occasional table. New Zealand Design Award winners: N.Z. Enamelled Products, Ltd, Rembrandt console woodburner, Woolrest Corporation, Ltd, Woolrest sleeper.
