TV cover for league final
NZPA-AAP Sydney The 1985 Winfield Cup Rugby League Grand Final on Sunday week will be televised live from the Sydney Cricket Ground. The Grand Final, which will be televised nationally, will also be shown in Papua New
Guinea, New Zealand and Great Britain and through other overseas outlets.
The New South Wales Rugby League general manager, Mr John Quayle, said the Grand
Final was almost sold out. The board had decided to make the early announcement to give supporters time to make arrangements to watch the game.
About six million people are expected to watch. Mr Quayle said normally the NSWkL would wait until all tickets had been sold before announcing live television coverage. The remaining tickets would certainly be taken, he said.
