G. Grylls out

PA Auckland Two riders, Gary Grylls and apprentice, Des Saxton, have been suspended for three riding days. Grylls, the rider of Call Me Kiwi in the Empire Intermediate Handicap at Avondale on Saturday, was found guilty by the judicial committee of causing interference to Fury’s Grit with 200 m to run.

Call Me Kiwi finished first by a short neck from Fury’s Grit, but the committee reversed the placings and suspended Grylls up to and including Friday. Saxton, the rider of the second-placed Gay Bonita in the Albany Maiden, was penalised after the judicial committee found her guilty of interference to fifth-placed runner, Mr Sport. Gay Bonita was put back to fifth, and My Sport promoted from fifth to fourth. Saxton was suspended up to and including Friday.
