‘No moral Utopia’
Sir,—l am concerned that the net effect of the coalition of moral groups will be to undermine any possibility of an harmonious society, accepting and tolerant of differences and diversities that are, like it or not, a reality of a healthy community. The development of my own moral code has been influenced by the example of those people I have freely chosen as my models and certainly not selfrighteous moralists, including those imported. Such people tend to anger and alienate me. If others react as I do then this is why I suspect such people will do more harm than good. There will be support for this coalition, particu-
larly from single-minded funda- -.<■ mentalists who need black and white answers and feel insecure with naked questions. People with such answers appear to delight in . identifying the sins and failings of - others, possibly to divert any focusing on their own failings and limitations.—Yours, etc., .? A. DAKERS.
