Saving the whales

Sir,—How grateful we should be for the tremendous efforts made by the people of Kawa Bay, alerted by Mr Sid Davies, to help to save a

majority of the stranded whales. At the same time one loses faith in those human beings who engage themselves in the annual slaughter of whales, particularly in such places as the Faroe Islands, under the home rule of Denmark, where there is no protection act to forbid a relentless bloody massacre. In our country the whales have had saviours. Would that more people could make their individual efforts for the particular atrocity referred to, to be brought to a cessation.—Yours, etc., MISS NATALIE TAYLOR. August 10, 1985.
