Cricket tour in doubt
NZPA-ReuterSt John’s, Antigua England’s planned cricket tour of the West Indies next year has run into more trouble with Antigua and Barbados saying that the batsman, Graham Gooch, would not be welcome because of his unrepentant stance about playing in South Africa. Guyana has said already it will not admit any Eng-
land cricketer who has played in South Africa. Other Caribbean countries have taken a softer stance, saying that if players have served a three-year suspension from international sport for doing so, they will be accepted on tour. Gooch recently ruffled feelings by saying that he did not regret playing in South Africa in 1982 and would do so again.
