Baggage-line opened
Claiming baggage at Christchurch Airport should be a better experience for all travellers, according to these special “fairies” yesterday. The fairies (from front to back), Anna Sheard, Rebecca McLeod, Mandy Lloyds (obscrued), and Jane McCarroll, members of the Southern Ballet school, offered the assurances at the opening of the airport’s new conveyor belt. The Minister of Tourism,
Mr Moore, who officiated at the opening, said that an efficient baggage claim service was a vital facility at any airport. Having to wait even an extra five minutes for luggage was annoying and could leave a detrimental impression on an overseas traveller, he said.
