Tourism campaign for S.I.

A $lOO,OOO tourism campaign aimed at encouraging North Islanders to visit the South Island was launched by the Minister of Tourism, Mr Moore, in Christchurch yesterday. South Islanders will see little of the advertising campaign as it will be concentrated in the “golden triangle” of Auckland, Hamilton, and the Bay of Plenty. The campaign will include the distribution of a booklet, “Off-Peak Perks in the South Island,” and advertisements in North Island daily newspapers. “I want to tell North Islanders to see South Island snow before Fiji’s sand,” Mr Moore said.
