Milk, cream price rise

PA Wellington The price of milk and cream will rise from next month. From September 1, a 600 ml bottle of whole, homogenised or non-fat milk will rise sc. A 300 ml bottle of cream will be 10c dearer. Thus the standard price of a bottle of milk will be 40c and a bottle of cream 75c. The increases have been approved by the Minister of Agriculture, Mr Moyle. The Milk Promotion Council said the increases reflected the actual movement in costs for the production, processing and distribution of the products now that the Government subsidy had been removed.
