CBS counters
The CBS television network has completed its offer to repurchase 21 per cent of its own shares in a bid to head off a take-over move by the broadcasting and television magnate, Mr Ted Turner. The network said its proposal to buy back 6.365 million shares for SUS4O (SNZ76) in cash and SUSIIO (SNZ2O9) in securities had received four times more sales offers than had been sought.
