Apart from the basic workload of analysis the Instrument operators (3) are responsiible for calibration of analytical instruments together with ensuring that these are maintained to an optimum standard. Analysis of a less conventional nature is also involved which requires some degree of expertise and/or liaison with classical analysts. Computerisation of equipment and analysis is at a high level, therefore familiarity in this field would need to be achieved. Qualifications to N.Z.C. standard would be a definite advantage to applicants.
