Military parade
Sir, — On Sunday afternoon television I watched Her Majesty the Queen taking the salute at the Horse Guards’ parade in London. It was good to watch a military display that was not bristling with aggressive weapons and an obvious threat to the outside world. It was also good to see a Head of State who was not overloaded with medal ribbons and gongs like a Ruritanian opera prince. — Yours, etc H. E. NEWMAN. Rangiora, July 21, 1985.
