Whitcoulls packaging recognised
Members of the Christchurch packaging division of Whitcoulls who have won recognition in an international packaging competition are (from left): Mr Allan Brinson, a printer; Mr Peter Healing, an apprentice; Mr Geoff Butler, a printing supervisor; and Mr Greg Stevenson, a technical supervisor. The plant in Treffers Road, Sockburn, produces a Macintoshes toffee packet, which gained an honourable mention, and a Nescafe Fine Blend coffee refill packet, which gained a special achievement award in an annual competition run by the American Flexo-
graphic Technical Association. The Whitcoulls flexographic plant has won a number of international awards for its production expertise, including in 1981 the first top prize to be awarded by the American association to a packaging firm in Australia or New Zealand. Whitcoulls was also placed second in a European’ packaging competition last year.
