Altercation in car-park
An altercation in the carpark of the Avonhead Tavern on Thursday evening was not a knife fight, said the acting manager of the tavern, Mr Peter Hudson, yesterday. Mr Hudson said that a report in “The Press” yesterday was incorrect. “It was just a verbal altercation. No blows were exchanged,” he said. Two men were arrested after the incident and charged with possession of offensive weapons. They will appear in court on July 17.
