$18,000 to charities
Nine Christchurch charities and one in Timaru have been given $2OOO each from the George Sevicke Jones Estate.
The total of $20,000 distributed was from accumulated income from the estate for the 1984-85 year.
The charities are Nazareth House; St John of God Hospital, Halswell; Presbyterian Social Services Association; Crippled Children Society, Canterbury; Methodist Orphanage; Mary Potter Hospital; The Clothes Shop; Christchurch City Mission; the Salvation Army; and St Vianney’s Home of Compassion, Timaru.
