Knife fight in car-park
Two men will appear in the District Court on July 17 charged with possession of offensive weapons, after a fight in the Avonhead Tavern car-park last evening. The men, aged 23 and 24, were drinking at the tavern before the knife fight started, said a police spokesman. The police were called at 10.45 p.m. and arrested both men after speaking to witnesses, he said.
