All Black to get job back
PA Wellington The All Black, Scott Crichton, will get his old job back with the Railways Corporation when he returns from the rugby tour of South Africa.
Crichton, a ; diesel mechanic, has resigned to make the 10-week tour because of the Government’s ban on special and unpaid leave for public servants participating in sports contact with South Africa. .
He said yesterday he had discussed his situation with Railways Corporation officials and was given a guarantee that he would be rehired after the tour.
The only qualification was that he would lose seniority, which could affect his chances of promotion. Crichton is married, with a young family.
