Formica surfaces
The entire Formica range available in New Zealand is stocked at Smiths City Market’s new trade centre. With more room for both storage and display than was available at the Dundas Street outlet, the Formica warehouse now houses a selection carefully chosen from the Formica (America) range, which is world wide. Just as the colour and pattern choices have expanded over the years, so, too, have the applications for Formica, which falls into three main categories: Laminate, Aquapanel, and Beautyboard. The thinnest of the Formica range is the Laminate, at Imm, which is used for surfaces such as sink
benches, table tops, and furniture. Aquapanel is a resin-im-pregnated surface which is bonded to a high-density hardboard. It is 4.75 mm thick, and used for walllinings, such as showers. Beautyboard comes in either 16mm or 18mm thickness, and is generally used for cabinet work, such as doors, tables, cabinets and furniture. Beautyboard is a decorative DAP resin-impregnated surface that is laminated to one or both sides of particleboard, or medium-density fibreboard, Bisonboard or hardboard. Sheets of Formica can be cut to the required size at the centre warehouse.
The carry section of this delivery vehicle was designed especially for carrying Formica.
