Town leads bowls
The Town indoor bowlers led Combined Country by 54 points to 30 after the first leg of their annual contest at the Kearneys Road Hall this week.
The second leg will be at Amberley on September 11. Country took a two-point lead from the fours round with two wins and three draws to Town’s single win. But the Town singles players again proved too strong, winning 17 of the 24 games. Results (Town names first).—
