More paroles considered
Wellington reporter The Prisons Parole Board has been under pressure this year with the most cases to consider since 1962, according to its annual report to Parliament. In 1962, there were 237
reviews (including 115 on the old corrective training sentence); in 1984, 215 prisoners were seen or their cases considered, as well as eight parole reviews. This was almost 100 cases more than 1983.
