Champion rider jailed
NZPA-AAP Sydney A champion Australian speedway rider has been jailed for three years on two charges of importing 420 grams of cannabis resin from England. Gary Guglielmi, aged 27, of Ashcroft, in south-west Sydney, pleaded guilty in the District Court at Sydney
this week to the charges before Judge Smythe. The Court was told that the police had found cannabis resin inside the crankcase of Guglielmi’s motorcycle. He was sentenced to three years imprisonment on each charge, to be served concurrently with a one-year nonparole period.
