Wool prices mostly firm at Auck. sale
PA Wellington Wool prices mostly were firm at the combined Auck-land-Napier sale held in Wellington on Thursday. The main buyers were China and New Zealand carpet mills, supported well by New Zealand merchant scourers.. The offering was 75 per cent second-shear, 4 per cent lambs’ wool, 3 per cent fleece, and 15 per cent second-shear oddments. The official report said that compared with the
Christchurch sale on May 24, the market was up 2.5 per cent for good style 35 micron second shear of good length. Poorer, styles were in buyers’ favour. Fleece wool was in seller’s favour. The market indicator was 386 c greasy and 518 c clean. Crossbred fleece, 35 micron, 105/115mm: Good to 529. Crossbred 37 micron, 105/ 115 mm: Good to 528. Average to good to 511. Second-shear, 31 micron, 25/ 75mm to 50/75mm: Average to good 503 to 512. Average 481 to 490 c.
Second-shear, 33 micron, 25/ 75mm to 50/75mm: Good 504 to 512. Average to good 494 to 502 c. Second-shear, 35 micron, 75/ 100 mm to 75/125mm: Good 536 to 541. Average to good 526 to 534. Second-shear, 37 micron, 75/ 100 mm to 75/125mm: Good 533 to 545. Average to good 521 to 529. Average 497 to 507. Second-shear, 37 micron 50/ 75mm to 50/100mm: Good 497 to 529. Average to good 492 to 512. Average 488 to 499. Second-shear bellies and pieces, 37 micron, 50/100mm to 75/100mm: Average 442 to 459. Average-poor 422 to 434.
