Farmers in four districts to vote
Meat and wool farmers in Marlborough. Nelson, and North Otago will be required to elect their 1985-86 representatives for the Electoral Committee of the Meat and Wool Boards. These electoral districts are two of only four, out of the national total of 23 seats, where elections will be required. All other electoral committee men have been nominated unopposed and are therefore reelected. Voting papers will be posted to all eligible voters in the four districts on June 26 and must be returned by July 24. Producers in the Buller and Inangahua counties are now included in the Canter-bury-Westland district where no election is required. In Marlborough-Nelson the sitting member, Mr H. J. Stace, of Picton, retired and the election will be between Messrs I. M. McNabb of Ward, L. E. Parkes of Seddon, and T. A. Russell of Nelson. In North Otago the sitting member, Mr C. R. Dick, of Oamaru, is opposed by Mr L. M. Malcolm, of Oamaru. Elections will also be required in Southern Wairarapa. Wellington and Southland. Elsewhere in the northern half of the South Island the following persons have been re-elected unopposed: Messrs R. W. Davison (North Canterbury). G. T. Hobson (Canterbury-West-land), B. E. Lili (Ashburton), and H. B. Styles (South Canterbury).
