NZPA staff correspondent London A woman who died after falling from a soldier’s horse in Windsor Park on Sunday has been identified as Deborah Mary Baldwin, a British national who spent most of her life in New Zealand. Windsor police said Ms Baldwin, aged 27, had worked for British Airways in New Zealand before transferring to the airline’s Heathrow office in January. Her parents, who are now on their way to London live in New Zealand. Miss Baldwin had attended the Windsor Horse Trials and was walking through the park when she met a soldier exercising horses, said Inspector Michael Weller. The soldier agreed to let her ride one of the horses. She fell, and the horse went over her.
Inspector Weller said that it was not known whether she was trampled by the horse. The cause of her fatal injuries would not be known until a post-mortem examination was done today.
Ms Baldwin was born in Kenya and moved to New Zealand with her parents at an early age. Since arriving in Britain this year she had lived with her sister, Yvonne, aged 26, in Windsor.
