NZPA New Jersey The leading three-year-old, Spend a Buck, the Kentucky Derby winner this year, won the Jersey Derby on Monday to bring his owner a record ?U52.6 million in prize and bonus money. The race was run at the Garden State Track in Cherry Hill, in the Philadelphia suburbs. Spend a Buck led from start to finish, T
crossing the line half a length in front of Creme Fraiche ano El Basco. He was ridden for the first time by Laffit Pincay. His owner, Dennis Diaz, will get prize money of SUS6OO,OOO as well as a record bonus of SUS2 million offered by Garden State to a colt winning four stake races, including the Kentucky Derby and the Jersey Derby.
